How to Fulfill God's Plan
Have you ever wondered how you can be a part of fulfilling God’s plan?
Regardless of the political or cultural climate, you can be sure that God will work through people who are willing to step out in faith.
In Daniel 6, you can read the story of a man who stood up for God even when the ruler he was under did not honor God. When the king gave a decree that people should only pray to him, Daniel stood up for righteousness and continued his practice of praying out loud to the Lord.
The punishment for disobedience to this law was to be thrown in the lion’s den, but God protected Daniel and the lions did not harm him. After seeing this miracle, the King issued a decree that everyone must fear and reference the God of Daniel.
“For he is the living God
and he endures forever;
his kingdom will not be destroyed,
his dominion will never end.
He rescues and he saves;
he performs signs and wonders
in the heavens and on the earth.
He has rescued Daniel
from the power of the lions.”
Daniel 6:26-27
God used Daniel to change the way the King of Babylon viewed God and the way he treated those who worship Him. If God can use Daniel to influence the King, how can God use you to influence the people in your circle?
Here are three ways you can promote the unstoppable message of Jesus Christ:
1. Pray
Prayer is a powerful weapon! Whenever God did something in the Bible, whether it was freeing the Israelites in Egypt or seeing the Holy Spirit fall on the believers in the book of Acts, it started through prayer. Even the miracles performed by Jesus started when a sick person called out to Jesus!
Communicating our needs and desires to God shows him that we trust him to be the solution to our problems. As we prepare to transition power to a new president, we should be praying for them and that God will use them to work everything for our good. We should also be praying for our friends, neighbors, and country and that they would be open to hearing the Gospel and recognizing God’s work in their lives.
2. Serve
Serving in the local church and local ministries helps us reach people and share the love of God. Whether you smile and help direct cars to open parking spots or you pray with elementary schoolers in the children’s ministry, you are a minister of the gospel!
When we serve, it also connects us to the lost. It can be easy to get used to being saved or get used to what it is like to be involved in a Champion Group or Dream Team. We have an excellent community of believers at Champion who are always willing to support and pray with each other. But there are people who have never had anyone pray for them, and there are people who have never experienced the love of God. When you serve, you create a way for those people to encounter Jesus through you!
3. Share
Your personal story is your most unstoppable witness. No one can deny the work that God has done through your life, so get comfortable sharing your story. If you’re nervous, start by sharing your testimony with a friend or member of your Champion Group. As you build your confidence, look for opportunities to share your story with people in a similar situation. For example, if God set you free from addiction, look for opportunities to share with an addict or their family members. If God gave you joy and helped you overcome depression, share that experience with the people in your life who struggle with those same issues.
Knowing that God is working through you should give you the confidence to pray, serve, and share your story. Think about when you were unsaved. Who helped connect you to Jesus? Who was praying for you? Who did you meet the first time you went to church? And who inspired you with their testimony?
You can be that person for someone else!
