Spring is Coming

We made it! It’s finally spring! What felt like the longest, harshest winter Western PA has seen in years has ended, and we enter a new season.

Nature is becoming colorful, and the sounds of birds singing signal that spring is here! Everything that was barren and dead from winter is coming back to life, becoming vibrant and fruitful. These changes happened with no help from man, but all under God’s perfect timing and care, which reminds us of God’s unchanging faithfulness.

Our seasons of life often emulate the rhythms of the year. Inevitably, we are faced with challenges, often leaving us feeling dry and worn out. Ecclesiastes 3:1-5 says, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:

a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,

a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,

a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,

a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,

a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing.”

This may not have been a fan fave of most, but what I see here is great news! Nothing that happens is a surprise to God or catches Him off guard, and this isn’t where He intends to leave you. He is with you through your trial and on the other side. He has breakthrough and new birth waiting for your life, just like the freshness of spring after a long winter!

However, it takes intentionality from us to be ready to receive the fullness of the breakthrough. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to miss out on any good part of my life God has waiting for me because I didn’t do my part. Spending time daily in His word, worshiping Him, praying fervently, and surrounding ourselves with people who encourage us are just a few ways we can cultivate fertile ground and experience spiritual fruit.

If you’re going through a trial right now or experiencing spiritual dryness, hang on. Something amazing is waiting for you on the other side, friend!

Stand firm and rest in whatever season you are in, because God‘s faithfulness never changes.

Spring is coming.
