Girl, Relax - God’s Got This.

Life has a way of throwing turns, detours, and unexpected stops on the road to our promise. We all have something we’re believing for and yet, the process rarely looks like what we pictured. But that’s exactly where God’s grace meets us. His grace is sufficient, not barely enough, but more than enough to help us thrive through every season, even the hard ones.

The truth is, we’re not meant to carry life the way the world does. While culture tells us to hustle, fix, and control, God invites us to surrender, trust and rest. Even in the face of adversity, we can have peace in the storm because our Father is working behind the scenes. He sees what we can’t, and He’s weaving it all together for our good.

Grace is one of the most powerful and transformative truths in Scripture. It’s the undeserved, unearned favor and kindness of God. Grace is not something we can work for or earn, it’s a gift freely given through Jesus Christ.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.” - Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV)

The term “grace” is often referenced in the Christian world, and despite growing up in church, it honestly took me some time to actually understand what it means. Grace is the foundation of our salvation, but it’s also what sustains us every single day. It’s God’s divine empowerment that enables us to live out His purpose, walk in freedom, and endure through every season with peace and joy.

The Two Types of Grace:

  1. Saving Grace : This is the grace that redeems us. When Jesus died on the cross, He made a way for us to be reconciled to God, not by our good deeds, but by His finished work. Grace forgives our past, covers our sins, and brings us into relationship with the Father.

“For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people.” — Titus 2:11

  2. Sustaining (Empowering) Grace : This is the grace that strengthens us daily. Grace doesn’t just save us; it empowers us to live differently. When we feel weak, weary, or inadequate, His grace meets us there to lift the weight.

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9

Now that you understand what grace is, here is how we walk in it… simply ask for it and receive it. You don’t need to earn it, because Jesus has already paid for it on the cross. Rely on it. In moments of weakness, ask God for His strength through grace, rather than trying to push harder on your own. Rest in it. Surrender and trust that God’s grace is actively working in your life, even when you can’t see the outcome.

The amazing part of operating in God’s grace is that what you freely receive, you can freely give (Matthew 10:8). When you’re walking in God’s grace, you can extend His grace to others - the same patience, forgiveness, and kindness He’s shown you.

Living in God’s grace is true freedom. Without it, life feels heavy and burdensome. God doesn’t want you to white-knuckle your faith or figure it all out. He desires for you to live a life full of joy and peace by accepting His grace in every area of your life. Invite Him into the hard spaces and watch how He brings fresh life to them.

So take a deep breath, release the weight you’ve been holding, and remind your heart that He is faithful. He’s working. Trust Him and His goodness.  God is saying to you right now, “Girl, relax. I got this”
